Clearfield Announces FieldSmart Fiber Distribution Point - KIS
First FieldShield Optimized Enclosure for Universal Fiber Delivery
Keeping it Simple, New Wall-Mount Panel Streamlines Broadband Deployment
MINNEAPOLIS, May 16, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Clearfield, Inc. (Nasdaq:CLFD), the specialist in fiber management and connectivity platforms for communications providers, today announced the FieldSmart Fiber Delivery Point (FDP) KIS Outdoor Enclosure. Continuing the building block approach of Clearfield's fiber management principles, FDP-KIS is the first enclosure to be optimized for pushable fiber deployment. Unique to FDP-KIS, the enclosure is a simple to use architecture from 1 to 48 ports of fiber, housing single as well as multi-count fiber strands. It is an excellent fiber delivery solution for everything from the MDU to the antenna.
"Pushable fiber is revolutionizing fiber delivery and this is the first enclosure designed specifically for this system," said Johnny Hill, chief operating officer at Clearfield, Inc. "It is effective across the board in numerous applications and serves both as a universal demarc unit as well as the industry's simplest fiber distribution hub."
FieldSmart FDP-KIS keeps fiber delivery and management simple. Large enough to house the fiber distribution ports required but small enough to easily mount in the most space-constrained environments, KIS enables ubiquitous access with an exit/entry point on every side of the unit, providing entry and exit access from any direction. Due to the Clearview Cassette's self-contained fiber management, and Clearview Blue's integrated slack storage, this simple enclosure design delivers the highest standards of fiber access and bend-radius protection. Used in conjunction with either standard OSP cable or optimized with FieldShield pushable fiber, FDP-KIS speeds deployment with a consistent fiber management design in the most demanding of fiber application environments.
The FieldSmart FDP-KIS is compliant to: NEMA 4, GR-20, GR-409, GR-487, GR-1221 and GR-1209. All Clearfield fiber terminations have been tested to GR-326 compliance with every pigtail, patch cord and 12-fiber assembly guaranteed to Clearfield's Fiber Deep performance threshold of .2dB insertion loss.
The FieldSmart FDP-KIS will be on display in Clearfield's booth #4063 at CTIA 2013 (May 21-23, 2013, Sands Expo & Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV). Additional information, such as Wireless Application Notes, are available at www.ClearfieldConnection.com.
