Clearfield Takes the Prep Costs Out of High Fiber Count Cables With Ribbon Break Out Accessories

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Clearfield, Inc. (NASDAQ: CLFD) has announced today the addition of the FieldSmart Ribbon Break Out Box, designed to break out, manage and protect high fiber count ribbon cables, without adding to cost or installation time.

When ribbon fiber counts in excess of 144 are required, Clearfield's FieldSmart Ribbon Break Out Box is the solution. Providing full protection for multi-fiber breakout of up to 864 fibers, the Break Out Box protects as we transition to other Clearview Multiplied fiber management solutions.

"Ribbon fiber presents a set of cable management challenges not seen when working with loose-tube designs," explains Johnny Hill, chief operating officer for Clearfield. "The FieldSmart Ribbon Break Out Box provides a robust, intuitive, and repeatable way to breakout high count ribbon fiber consistent with our design methodology of reducing materials costs and service turn up time." The Ribbon Break Out Box consists of a housing unit, transportation tubes and cable clamps. Whereas ribbon break outs were only available in counts of up to 144, the new Ribbon Break Out Box allows the user to easily scale up to 864 counts--adding to faster turn up rates, 12 fibers at a time for the user.

Clearfield's Break Out Box guarantees every fiber is protected. It is a cost effective, highly reliable fiber protection device that will simplify the field tech's day and reduce the cost of FTTx deployment.
